Subject: And still moving...

Hello everyone,

I have taken the wise advice of my uncle Brian.

I write to you all from Prague (in the Czech

Republic).

I have been here for less than 24 hours so far; I have

slept for 15 of them.

Unfortunately, my bag was lost almost immediately, so

I'm getting comfortable in my outfit de'jure. It's

fashionable, understated, and very American. I'll fix

that tomorrow and get a nice suite to live in. [This

is kind of a blessing actually. My original instinct

was to travel with nothing but a toothbrush. Now I

have that opportunity.]

The city, at least what I've seen is strangely old,

strangely weathered, and oddly beautiful. The weather

is perfect, maybe 75-80 degrees, and despite the fact

that I slept on a glorified couch cushion, I slept

amazingly well.

It's nice to get away from my life in the USA for a

while. If you haven't heard, I lost my job, sold my

house, and  moved out of Tucson in the past 6 weeks. It

has been a wild ride--lots of details to manage.

That's the part I refer to when I say I'm glad to be

gone for a while. There are details to manage here,

obviously, but for some reason it feels different.

Tonight I am going in search of some American

musicians that are friends of Chris Burroughs. Chris

is my buddy who encouraged me to come here first, and

gave me some good contact information, including this

show date. I don't know the players, but I'm sure the

music will be good. I'm looking forward to seeking out

a new adventure.

Switzerland was a trip. I was there yesterday. Not

sure where the next 7 weeks will take me, but I'll

keep you all posted on the adventure.

Until then, keep it real and kiss the closest cubicle

for me.

Diky,

Dan Burke
